#Lightzone with 7d mark ii full size
I shoot full size RAW and don't worry about it as storage is cheap these days. I've always used large cards - currently 128 GB CF + 64 GB SD in the 5D4 and 128 GB SD in the 90D - and carried spares of the same size. The 128 GB UHS-II cards are about $200 and the 128 GB CFExpress cards, which are substantially faster, are $250. Otherwise, UHS-II for full raw backups.Īnd for those who think cost will come down, I'm not so sure.

I might use UHS-I cards when doing a school event so I can have instant access to JPEGs on that card. In the R5 I will likely run a UHS-II SDXC card (300MB/s) so it doesn't slow down the burst length. I sort of wish the R5 had two CFExpress cards like the 1DXiii, but I'm sure there will be some convenience in having access to SD cards. I will likely pick up another one or two 128s so they can match up. I currently have Sandisk CFExpress cards (128 and 64) for my 1DX. What CF and SD card are you going to get for the R5?Īlso I don't understand the difference between CFExpress and CFast 2.0 so I don't really know what format to look for
